A Trial to stand

A word to tell, whispered in disgust
A name so forbidden even in thoughts
Was it a sin to hide them in hearts,
For nothing reigned there at last!

Yet I smiled in memories of past
The ones who stood, were in trial
Heroes once, whom despair hit a blast
Scion of many, protector of none!

Inscrutable it seemed, the platoon in me
Haunting all beyond the wits of nerves
Once honoured, now questioned...
Once loved, now abandoned in dark!

Mistakes were to be forgiven, but
Did those sins have a chance...
Hoping to smile a little; but-
“Absolutely never" was echoed.

The saviour of the land, to bounce
Back at the siege, at the ambush
To the lagoon where foliage cracked,
A rise in mere hope averted cent!

I saw them stand the trial of hope
More fearsome than any chain

Was it a bond? Enquired many astound
It was respect, a hymn in silence.

An ostentatious grin in opulence
Owned by the one out in rage
Irony it was, fathomless indeed
Frowned face reflecting all; clear!

Doubt was none, to be capitalised
The merry whisper enough to startle
A life whose light immeasurable,
For a confront infront, a trial of life!
