Dr. മാത്യൂസ് മാർ പോളികാർപ്പസ് മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്തായും, മാർ ഈവാനിയോസ് കോളജും
1983 ഡിസംബർ 18 ന് മാർ ഗ്രിഗോറിയോസ് പിതാവിൽ നിന്ന് വൈദീക പട്ടം സ്വീകരിച്ച ഇന്നത്തെ പോളികാർപ്പസ് പിതാവ് 1974-76 കാലത്ത് മാർ ഈവാനിയോസ് കോളജിലെ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയായ കാലം മുതൽ കോളജിനോടുള്ള അടുപ്പം അദ്ധ്യാ പകനായും, ബർസാറായും, ഹോസ്റ്റൽ വാർഡനായും, പ്രിൻസിപ്പലായും ചെയ്തിട്ടുള്ള പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾകൊണ്ട് നമ്മൾക്കു മനസ്സിലാക്കിയെടുക്കാവുന്നതേയുള്ളു.
വിദ്യാഭ്യാസത്തിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിലാണങ്കിലും ഉന്നതനിലവാരത്തിൽ തന്നെയാണ് പിതാവിന്റെ ബിരുദങ്ങൾ. ഗോൾഡ് മെഡൽ നേടിയാണ് ചെന്നൈ ലയോള കോ ജിൽ നിന്നും ബിരുദം നേടിയത്. മധുര കാമ രാജ് യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി യിൽ നിന്നും, പാരീസിലെ കത്തോലിക്ക യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റിയിൽ നിന്നും ഫ്രഞ്ചുസാഹിത്യ ത്തിൽ ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദവും നേടി. തിരുനൽവേലി M S University യിൽ നിന്നും ഡോക്ടറേറ്റും കരസ്ഥമാക്കി .(പിതാവു തന്റെ അജപാലന ശുശ്രൂഷ സ്തുത്യർഹമായി നിർവഹിച്ചതിന്റെ പരിണിതഫലമാണ് ദൈവം നൽകിയ പുതിയ സ്ഥാനമാനം)
വിദ്യാർത്ഥി ജീവിതം കഴിഞ്ഞ്, 1990 ൽ മാർ ഈവാനിയോസ് കൊളജിൽ ഫ്രഞ്ച് അദ്ധ്യാപകനായി പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നു. അതൊടൊപ്പം തന്നെ
ഹോസ്റ്റൽ വാർഡനായി 17 വർഷകാലത്തോളം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു. പിന്നിട് കോളജിന്റെ ബർസാർ സ്ഥനത്തേക്കു വരികയും. 2007ൽ ഡോ. മാത്യു മനക്കരക്കാവിലച്ചൻ (ഇന്നത്തെ മാത്യൂസ് മാർ പോളികാർപ്പസ് മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്ത) കൊളജിന്റെ പ്രിൻസിപ്പലായി ചുമതലയേറ്റു. 2007 മുതൽ 2011 വരെ കൊ ജിന്റെ സുവർണകാലഘട്ടമെന്നു വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കാം.
ഒരു നല്ല ഫ്രഞ്ച് അദ്ധ്യാപകനായിരുന്നു പിതാവ്. മലയാളം, ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്, ഫ്രഞ്ച്, ഹിന്ദി എന്നീ ഭാഷകൾ നന്നായി സംസാരിക്കുകയും, എഴുതുകയും, പ്രസംഗിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യാൻ കഴിവുള്ള ഒരു വ്യക്തിയാണ് പിതാവ്. എന്റെ അനുഭവത്തിൽ നിർഭയനായ ഒരു ഭരണാധികാരിയും, ക്യാമ്പസിലെ അച്ചടക്കത്തിന്റെ കാര്യത്തിലും, പ്രിൻസിപ്പലെന്ന നിലയിൽ കൊളജിനെ നയിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന കാര്യത്തിലും ഒരു നല്ല നേതൃത്വപാടവം പിതാവിന്റെ പ്രവർത്തനത്തിലുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. പ്രിൻസിപ്പലായി ചാർജെടുത്ത ദിവസം ഒരു പ്രാർത്ഥനയിൽ പറഞ്ഞ കാര്യം - "പണിക്കരച്ചനെപ്പോ ലെയുള്ള മഹാരഥന്മാർ ഇരുന്ന ഈ കസേരയിൽ ഇരിക്കാൻ എന്നെ യോഗ്യനാക്കിയ ദൈവമേ എന്നോടൊപ്പമുണ്ടാകേണമേ". ആ എളിമയാണിന്നും പിതാവിനെ മുന്നോട്ടു നയിക്കുന്നത്.
മെത്രാപ്പോലീത്ത സ്ഥാനമേറ്റതിനു ശേഷം മാർ ഈവാനിയോസിലെ സ്റ്റാഫുകൾ നൽകിയ ഒരു സ്വീകരണത്തിൽ പ്രിൻസിപ്പൽ Dr. Jijimon K Thomas sir നടത്തിയ പ്രസംത്തിൽ അച്ചൻ കോളജിനു വേണ്ടി ചെയ്ത കാര്യങ്ങൾ വളരെ ഭംഗിയായി അവതരിപ്പിച്ചു. പിതാവു ചെയ്ത കാര്യങ്ങൾ പുതിയതലമുറയും അറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കേണ്ടതാണ്.
