REPORT OF ADIMS NUTRISYM 2019


Department of Nutrition Attukal Devi Hospital conducted ADIMS NUTRISYM 2019
on 28.09.2019 (Saturday). The program was scheduled in 2 sections snack competition and a
Nutrition Symposium.
The Snack competition was divided into 2 sections as STRAWBERRY for students
and ORANGE for others (Anganwadi teachers, Hospital staffs,Housewifes ) participated. There
was 8 team of 16 members in team STRAWBERRY and 36 contestants participated in team
ORANGE. The competition started at 11am in the hospital conference hall.
The inaugural session was conducted at 12pm.With a prayer, the program rings the
bell. Dt.Subhasree prasanth welcome the invitees with her welcome speech. Our chief guest
Dt.Soumya Nair , IDA Kerala Chapter Convener ,inaugurate the function with lamp
lightning.Dr.Mahesh Sukumaran,Dr.Susan Koshy,Dt.Sunithakumari,Dr.Tincy Ramakrishnan
CDPO and Dt.Subhasree prasanth also gathered for lamp lightning. In the inaugural address
chief guest mentioned about the importance of conducting small nutrition programmes in and
around the states and also mentioned the importance of nutrition in the present scenario.
Dr.Mahesh Sukumaran in his facilitation agree with the chief guest. Dr.Tincy
Ramakrishnan and Dt.Sunitha kumari also gave facilitation.
The judgment for the contestant was take over by Dt.Soumya Nair and Dt.Sunitha
kumari.they tasted and integrated with each and every contestant for the judgment. After the
judgment the food items are opened for the Exhibition. The sessions wind up by 2pm.
The 2 nd session the Nutrition Symposium started at 2:30pm. Around 60 members
outside the hospital attended the program. The chair for the session was Dt.Soumya Nair.
Dt.Midila Mahandran Senior Consultant Rasheed Clinic took a session on “FOOD
FOR HEALTH” and she explained it well to the viewers. After that, Dt.Subhasree prasanth
Clinical Nutritionist ADIMS took session on “EATING IS AN ART”She explained the
importance of mindful eating in her session.
By 3pm the prize distribution for the contestant was done. The prize was given
separately for the 2 session. FATHIMA SHEJI of Woman’s College won the 1 st prize from
STRAWBERRY. She presented Energy Bar which satisfy both micro and macro nutrients. It
was healthy nutritious dish. She presented it well. SABEENA HAJA (housewife) won 1 st prize
from ORANGE. She presented banana flower snack which was healthy nutritious and she
presented it very nicely.
The prize distribution was done by our chief guest, invited faculty and Dr.Mahesh
Sukumaran. After that the 1 st prize winners was given opportunity to talk about their winning
dish. The programs wind up sharply at 3:30pm. Certificates are given to all participants who
present a healthy wonderful and tasty snack.
